A little over eighteen months ago
I began to see the writing on the wall. I knew that my job would
eventually end and at the age of 50 + I would eventually be unemployed.
That thought seems so long ago and that was in
November of 2007. I knew I wanted to work, but I also realized I
did not want to work for someone else. I realized that I wanted
to work for myself.
What was it I wanted to do? I wanted something
I had passion about, something that I could eventually make a living
from…and it came to me.
Me,
(Diana) with my alpaca, Moses. Isn't he a doll?
I love to knit, and I would open a knit shop
in the downriver area of Michigan. I announced to my family during
the Christmas holidays that I was going to go into business for
myself. They thought I was crazy, maybe I was. After weeks of searching
for the location, my daughter and I found this little shop on a
street named Sycamore.
It was perfect.
I opened in May of 2008 with a
lot of help from family and friends. I can’t begin to thank
them all for all they did and continue to do. They all are amazing.
From the bottom of my heart – thank you all!
I feel so very fortunate to do what I love most,
knitting. This is my life’s passion. I have had the awesome
experience to have the best teachers, the greatest customers and
a second home, with a living room area, complete with a fireplace
to sit and knit by.
Sycamore
Street, Wyandotte. We're right there in the middle.
My customers love it and I know you will too.
Come on in, sit and knit a spell, you’ll be glad you did.
